I did something very unusual for me. I hosted a Thirty-One party the other day. My friend Jaimie is a consultant and offered to donated her entire commission check towards our summer trip to Guatemala. WOW! Um, sure, I can probably find some friends who would buy some cute stuff! So I did. And for my part, we sold over $700 worth of products. I think that's pretty great. Pretty much, the products sell themselves. Jaimie was even home with the stomach flu that night so her hubby filled in for her (but only kind of, he didn't do the presentation part of the party, just helped people and answered questions). I did get one party booked from my party and Jaimie is going to give me a percentage of those sales as well.
Well, the whole time I am going through this process, I just keep reading about other consultants and what they were able to do with the money they earned. I have been talking about getting a part-time job for a few months now. Just something small to help with tuition bills and spending money. Apparently, Jaimie was thinking all weekend about what if I sold Thirty-One and got full commission from both parties and used 31 as my way to pay for our Guatemala trips.
Well, folks, I did it. Last night I officially became a 31 consultant. I now can hook you up with all your cute bag and accessory needs (not shoes or hair or jewelry. I guess more like bags and organization bins and such). I really do love the products and it's a Christian company (which I love!) and while I'm nervous about everything (like the fact that I hate being pushy and making phone calls and stuff...) I am REALLY excited about how God can use this adventure to help my family and our finances and ability to enjoy time away together.
My start up kit was shipped tonight and should be arriving FED-EX on Friday!!! Here we go...
